Welcome to CLiC

CLiC is a research training group at the Goethe University Frankfurt. Our mission is to unravel new insights about how biological systems can be controlled with light. Light is our stimulus of choice, which enables a vast scope of possibilities to elucidate the yet undiscovered facets of nature.

Our scientific expertise covers a broad and interdisciplinary network of research groups that – together – build CLiC.

PhD students of each research group start at the same point in time to build a cohort. Each PhD candidate initially gets multiple projects which are interdisciplinarily conducted with other PhD students.

With this program, we recruit PhD students with

• an international and interdisciplinary mindset and a broad scientific expertise
• experience in working in a project-organized environment
• leadership and teamplayer attributes

for their future career as scientific leaders in academia and industry.
